The recycling and processing of WPC (Wood-Plastic Composites) typically requires a comprehensive system for shredding, crushing, and pulverizing. Since WPC consists of both wood flour and plastics (such as PVC, PE, or PP), its physical properties are characterized by being both hard and brittle, as well as being relatively sensitive to temperature.
A1. WPC Shredder
Serving as the first stage of the production line, this unit is primarily used to process large-sized boards, square posts, or discarded pallets.
Technical Features: Employs a single-shaft or dual-shaft design featuring low speed and high torque, which prevents the material from overheating and melting during the shredding process.
Advantages: Capable of processing waste materials containing small amounts of metal (such as nails), thereby protecting the subsequent high-speed processing equipment.
A2. WPC Crusher
Further refines the shredded blocks into granules ranging in size from 3 to 12 mm.
Blade Design: Typically utilizes "V-shaped" angled cutting blades or claw-type blades. This design effectively minimizes dust generation while maintaining high efficiency when cutting through hard wood-plastic materials.
Cooling System: The bearing housings are typically equipped with a circulating water-cooling system to prevent excessive heat buildup during prolonged operation.
A3. WPC Pulverizer (Miller)
Grinds the crushed granules into a fine powder ranging from 20 to 80 mesh, making it suitable for re-feeding into an extruder for manufacturing.
Grinding Structure: A cutter-disc type pulverizer is recommended. Due to WPC's high thermal sensitivity, the cutter-disc design generates less heat compared to a grinding-disc design, thereby reducing the risk of material melting or "caking."
Dust Collection & Conveying: Equipped with a cyclone separator and a pulse-jet bag filter system to ensure a clean and dust-free workshop environment.
Automation: It is recommended to integrate a vibrating screen; oversized particles that fail to meet the size specifications are automatically returned to the pulverizer for a second round of grinding.
